Smiles are Contagious

Smiles

Hey team, Monday Message time. So, one of our core values is we eat cake, and one of the taglines behind that is, smiles are contagious. Boy, aren’t they? I know this for a fact because every time I go home, I see this little guy. Can you see that? Yep, I see that little guy. I was at Elmer’s that Sunday, and my son David smiles all the time. It doesn’t matter what kind of day I’ve had; I get home, I see that smile, and that happy Daddy! expression on his face, and stress melts away.

I don’t know if you have one of those little guys at home, little girls at home, somebody like that that does that for you, but we have team members that are like that, that bring out the best in all of us, and that’s one of our core values, celebrate like family. Sometimes life is hard; sometimes it’s not easy, sometimes it can be difficult, but we together persevere through like a family. We celebrate together; we mourn together; we live life together, and I think that’s a powerful message.

So, on this Monday message, remember, smiles are contagious. As a matter of fact, it’s one of your KRAs, everybody’s KRA. As an office or a patrol officer, it says smile, smile, that’s right. You’ll be surprised how much you can accomplish and how much you can get across to somebody through a smile, what you can change, even if somebody’s upset. Smile at them and offer to help; you’ll be surprised maybe how much you can get done and how much you can change and move the envelope on getting someone to do something that maybe they don’t even want to do, but your cheerful attitude and personality can change that.

So remember to smile because they are contagious. All right, you guys have a wonderful rest of your week and happy Monday. Be valuable because nothing less will do, and smile.
