Officer Rivera Thanks Lieutenant Christensen
Hey, good morning team. All right, so it’s November, and it is Thankful Thursday. That’s right. Now, today’s Thankful Thursday has nothing to do with me, and I absolutely love the fact that we have team members that are thankful for each other.
So, today’s Thankful Thursday actually comes from Officer Rivera. During leadership class, we challenged him to put together a Thankful Thursday. I asked him if he wanted to do this on video; he declined. I’m going to read his words. In fact, I will read his words because they are very eloquent and well written. They’re about an individual that no longer works here. The sentiment still remains, and the most important thing is that Officer Rivera is still here. And because of this other person, well, I think you’ll see what I mean when I finish reading this. So let me put my eyes on.
Hey says, “My Thankful Thursday shout out will come as no surprise to most people here at Northwest Enforcement. My thanks goes out to Lieutenant Kevin Christensen. He is an outstanding leader. His problem-solving skills are second to none, his articulate demeanor is a spotlight. His communication skills are excellent, and overall, he is a great person to work with.
When I came to work here, I came from an area of the country that is vastly different. I came out here with an understanding and a perspective on security in a much different sense. I was not only trained as the 520 officer. Or just another guard. I was welcomed to a team. To a family of security officers. I was trained not only to succeed but to exceed the expectations. Lieutenant Christensen is definitely someone I’ve strived to emulate, and emulation is one of the best forms of respect. He will definitely go on to lead a successful and fruitful career as a police officer. Thank you, Lieutenant Christensen, for always going out of your way to make sure we as a team have what we need at the drop of a pin.”
I really have nothing to add. Christensen is an excellent officer. He is going to have a very fruitful and great career as a law enforcement officer, and we are lucky to have had time to spend with him and to have other people recognize that that work here. Many of us do to have people like Officer Rivera that want to emulate that kind of leadership and that kind of example that Kevin Christensen set while he was here only tells me that our team is becoming more solid, more thankful, more fruitful in the long run.
And so, Officer Rivera, thank you for recognizing Kevin. Thank you for writing these words and going out of your way to say thank you. We’re going to make sure that he gets a copy of this video when we still know where he lives, so we’re going to reach out to him to make sure he’s aware of this. But at the same time, for the rest of us, let’s be thankful for one another like Officer Rivera was to Kevin.
Let’s remember, you guys can send in a note like what Officer Rivera just did, and you can say, ‘Hey, I’m thankful for so-and-so,’ and I will read your words. I will say your sentiment out. If you want to do the video, that’s what Thankful Thursdays are about.
So, if you want to sit on here and you don’t want to see my ugly mug anymore, you can say that you’re thankful, and we’ll post your video. The end result is that we are thankful. I am very thankful for Kevin and everything that he did here while he worked her. I’m thankful for the people he’s worked with like Officer Rivera.
I’m thankful that we have a great group of men and women that are following in Kevin’s footsteps. They are growing to be the best and to exceed sometimes what might be expected of them. They’re striving for excellence at every turn because our purpose is to be valuable because nothing less will do.
All right, God bless you guys, have a wonderful rest of your Thursday, enjoy the weekend, and I’ll see you next week. Bye, see ya.
