Encouragement is Oxygen

Encouragement is Oxygen

Hey team. All right, so here we are. It’s Monday again – Monday Message and encouragement is oxygen to the soul. There’s a quote I’ve used this in leadership, and there’s a gentleman I cannot remember his name right now. He says that we all have high points in our life. Most of those come through the encouragement of somebody else. Nobody, I don’t think anybody has ever truly lived without having some sort of encouragement. Imagine your life, or going through life, and having nobody ever encouraged you ever.

Some of us may feel sometimes that way, and that’s one of the reasons for Thankful Thursday, and that’s one of the reasons for our Officer Highlights that Jeff does, and so many other things that we do. Why do we have wheel spins? Why do we have these mechanisms within our company, excuse me, to encourage one another when we can humbly lift others up, when we can shine a light upon someone else, when we can hold the ladder so that somebody else can climb higher? When we can do those things, that’s why humility is such a core value of ours and a focus of ours is because our goal in being humble is to hold the ladder and the light for others. It is about our own confidence and who we are so that we don’t have to try to push others down.

So, our focus in leadership and our focus in life should be to complement others on their strengths and notice others for their greatness. I love that about our team. I love watching our team members congratulate one another on anniversaries, on birthdays, on good work that’s being done. When I hear a team member explain how great another team member is, when I sit in an executive meeting or an operations meeting or something and I hear somebody talking about the great work that somebody else is doing, not pointing fingers at themselves but at and towards another, I know that our team is becoming stronger and strengthened because they see the value in one another and the teamwork that we share.

So, guys, on this Monday, look around you, notice somebody, and humbly lift them up through words of encouragement. You might just find that they encourage you back. God bless you. Have a wonderful week, and remember to be valuable because nothing less will do. All right, God bless you guys. I’ll see you next week.
