Thank You All

Hey team. Alright, so it is Thankful Thursday, and I wanted to say what I’m thankful for. For the most part, that’s just you. You guys as a team. I am so thankful. I’ve heard so many different stories. We just came out of this ice storm in the last couple of weeks. And it seemed like it was going to go on forever. My boys were literally out of school for an entire week, and we had slick areas all around. Yet, so many officers stepped up. I know that I had patrol leads and stuff sleeping over at the other office. We’ve had that many years over the time where people stayed for two or three days at the office. They worked their shift. They worked over their shift, they slept, they got up, and they helped out, and they made it work.

It’s that teamwork, that dedication. I am just beside myself with thank you for how hard everybody worked. That put in effort to make a difference for the rest of everybody else and for our community. So, I just wanted to say thank you. It didn’t go unnoticed, and I want you to know how, from the bottom of my heart. Sonja, we all are so thankful for the dedication, the long hours. Some of you, we needed to come pick up, but you were willing to get the ride to work and work the shift and supply the value to the community and to the clients that we serve. And that is huge. You went the extra mile in so many different ways.

So, we want to just say thank you all. We received kudos from some of the shelters. I don’t know how much you guys really realize that we supplied security at eight separate shelters 24 hours a day. So many of you stepped up, and we got really great feedback on behalf of the county’s staff saying thank you for the hard work and the dedication and the showing up and helping out our community of houseless individuals in a time that they needed it.

So again, thank you guys. I usually say, “Be valuable because nothing less would do.” Well, you guys showed up in spades. Your value, your dedication, your hard work ethic, and I just can’t tell you how thankful that we are and proud of you and what our team can accomplish together when we put ourselves together and work for a common goal of greatness. That’s really what teamwork is about, and you guys showed off your greatness. So thank you, both individually and collectively as a team. Thank you very much. Alright, God bless you guys. I’ll see you next week.
