Be a Doer
Hey team! Alright, here we are, last Monday of April. Man, can you believe it? Time flies when you’re having fun.
Alright, so, a picture behind me. We’ve seen a bunch of pictures and stuff. There’s a solar eclipse that obviously took place here. I didn’t see it, but it’s coming, I don’t know. I haven’t paid that much attention, but I saw this picture, so I went ahead and grabbed it, and I thought you guys might enjoy it too. Picture of part of the eclipse or an eclipse that took place, or maybe an AI-generated eclipse. In this world anymore, we don’t know what’s real, because there’s so much AI going on.
But hey, I wanted to talk to you about a quote by a man named Stephen Covey. Stephen Covey said, “What you do has far greater impact on what than what you say.” Be a person of action, as opposed to a person of just talking.
And that goes back to our be valuable because nothing less would do. Very seldom are our clients concerned with what we say. They’re very concerned with what we do. They’re very concerned about outcomes. Outcomes matter and our response to a client’s need matters.
In a similar way, there’s not much I can say to my boys or even to my wife that I’ve been married to for over 30 years, so what I do that really matters. Getting to work, getting it done, making things happen. It is the outcomes that matter. Again, having good words is awesome, but if you don’t back it up with a walk that meets the talk, then the end result is people start to lose faith in you. You lose your credibility.
And so, as you’re thinking about our core values, we’ve got to remain humble. We want to be valuable because nothing else will do. We have to be invested, we’ve got to have resolve to stay with it. We’ve got to be transparent and truthful about who we are and what we’ve done.
And we like to eat cake. We love to eat cake, but those core values matter, and it’s how we represent them every day in what we do, not what we say, that really matters.
So on this Monday, what you do matters. So show up and be valuable because nothing less will do. And God bless you, have a wonderful rest of your week, and I’ll talk to you in May. See you, bye.
