Champion Defined

Champion Defined

Hey Team. Alright, so here we are. It is another beautiful day, and I got some wind out here today. Serena Williams said the following quote: “I really think a champion is defined not by their wins but how they can recover when they fall.” That makes me think of our core values. Resolve for one: never quit. Don’t quit. Life is hard sometimes; it’s going to knock you down, but it’s how you recover when you fall down that’s what a champion is made of.

“I really think a champion is defined not by their wins but how they can recover when they fall.”

Those of you that know who Serena Williams is, she plays tennis. She’s pretty damn great at it. So, I think she would know something about that, and I think that we all do to some degree. If you’ve lived this life a few minutes, you’ve probably been knocked down. You’ve probably been beat up, you’ve probably got a little dusty and a little dirty. And you’ve probably been taken advantage of. You’ve probably not felt so great in life over a number of different times that something has happened to you.

But it is the fact that you have gotten up, dusted off, and kept moving forward that is powerful. That is what gets you to the next step. That’s what gets you to the next place in your life.

Champions are made not because they win; it’s because they recover after they fall.

It’s because they recover after they fall, after they fail, after they make mistakes, and then they pick themselves back up, figure out what they did wrong, and move forward again.

So, on this beautiful day, think about that. How have I fallen, how can I fix myself? How can I get back up? What do I need to do to get better? Whatever it is, I’m not just talking about work here. I’m talking about your own personal life, your own walk with life, your own family life, your community gatherings, the things that you do. What can you do to improve yourself? Then keep doing it, and you will find yourself being a champion in that thing, in that area of your life.

I’ve made a lot of changes in my life for the better, and I continue to work on my flaws, of which I still have many. So if I can do it, so can you, and I believe in you. Again, be valuable because nothing less will do. God bless you. Have a wonderful rest of your week. I’ll talk to you next week. Bye, see you.
