Face Today with a Good Attitude
Hey team! All right, so here we are again. What a beautiful day, beautiful week. I wanted to share with you a quote I read in the last few weeks. It says, “You can’t always have a good day, but you can always face a bad day with a good attitude.” Your attitude matters. John Maxwell talks about it in a number of books that he’s written, and I have to agree. I have never been able to accomplish anything worthwhile in my life or fix a problem when I’ve had a bad attitude and outlook on the situation.
I really do believe that your attitude matters in everything that you say and do. You hear me say often, “I’m living the dream.” I’m not having a great day every day. Even today, my back hurts. It’s not feeling great. But none of that is going to move the needle on my day by just complaining about it. By complaining about pain, by complaining about life, by complaining about contracts, by complaining about a staff member. None of those things are going to move the needle in the right direction. But my attitude, and having an attitude of gratitude in your life, can change the way you have an outlook. It can be a pivotal moment. It might be something that you do with somebody else, and they step into a relationship with you because of your attitude—because it’s positive.
I’ve never heard of anybody wanting to hang around someone who’s like, “Yeah, the sun is shining, but it’s going to be cloudy tomorrow. It’s going to rain.” That constant pessimistic view on life—your attitude in a positive way is what moves the needle. I’m not saying that bad things don’t happen, or that you don’t have to address them or deal with them. I’m not saying that at all. What I’m saying is that your attitude, in the process of even the bad stuff going on, is what’s probably going to bring relief, solution, or relationships with others that are going to promote success moving forward in your life.
It is really, really true that your attitude matters in every way, shape, and form. If you have a positive attitude and try to look at things in a positive way. Even when you’re in pain, even when you’re having some tough times in your life, your positive attitude will move the needle in the right direction. A negative attitude—misery does love company—but I’ve never seen people move in the right direction, and I have never moved in the right direction when I’ve had a bad attitude. Typically, for me, I turn my attitude around, I focus on good things, and sometimes I’m even trying to help out somebody else who’s down. I find the solution to my problem comes in that situation.
It is the positive attitude that has changed for me to find something. A spark of hope—that turns the thing around for me. I don’t know about where you’re at today or this week but have a positive attitude because that’s what’s going to be that spark of hope in your life that’s going to turn things around. Again, bad things still happen to us, but you can still live the dream.
All right, God bless you guys. You have a wonderful week, and remember, let’s be valuable because nothing less will do. Constantly being positive, having hope—that is going to be the future of Northwest Enforcement. It is that positivity and thinking through the problem in a positive way, looking for avenues of approach that are going to change the direction of where we’re going, as opposed to the negativity that is only going to keep digging a deeper hole.
All right, God bless you guys. Have a wonderful day. See you next week.
