Your Probationary Period with NEI: What to Expect

90 Days

Starting a new job is both exciting and challenging. At Northwest Enforcement, we use the first 90 days as a probationary period to set our team members up for success. This period ensures that both the company and the team members are aligned in expectations, performance, and fit. Here’s what you can expect during your probation and how it sets the stage for long-term growth at NEI.

Training and Onboarding: Laying the Foundation for Success

The first 90 days are critical for your development and integration into our team. When you join NEI, we focus on providing you with the tools, resources, and training you need to excel in your role. During your probationary period, you’ll experience our team member-proven process, starting with:

  • Comprehensive Onboarding: You’ll gain a full understanding of NEI’s policies, procedures, and core values.
  • Pre-Assignment Training: As part of your training, you’ll familiarize yourself with the site you’re assigned to, including post orders, safety procedures, and any site-specific requirements.
  • Field Leader Guidance: You’ll work closely with field leaders who guide you through your initial shifts and ensure you’re confident in your role.

Staying on Track: Regular Check-Ins

We believe in regular communication to support your success during probation. During your probationary period, we’ll conduct regular check-ins at 30, 60, and 90 days. These check-ins will involve in-depth coaching, performance evaluations, and discussions about your progress and any challenges you may be facing. These reviews include:

  • Performance Evaluation: We’ll evaluate your performance against specific key performance indicators, while also identifying areas for improvement.
  • Attendance and Punctuality: We’ll review attendance patterns, including any late arrivals or call-outs, ensuring that we maintain a reliable and punctual team.
  • Recognition: We celebrate successes! If you’ve received client kudos, positive feedback, or gone above and beyond, we’ll recognize these achievements.
  • Company Policy: You’ll be checked on adherence to company policies, including uniforms, breaks, and grooming standards.

Quarterly Reviews: Your Path to Growth

In addition to the structured check-ins during probation, we also conduct quarterly reviews to evaluate progress and foster development. These conversations focus on:

  • Strengths and Areas for Improvement: Highlighting what you excel at and where growth is needed, such as report writing or attention to detail.
  • Previous Goals: Reviewing goals from your last check-in and setting new ones.
  • Uniform and Equipment Standards: Ensuring all issued items are accounted for and meet NEI’s professional standards.
  • Company Culture and Values: Discussing your understanding of our core values and culture.

If performance concerns persist beyond the probationary period, team members may re-enter probation to address specific areas needing improvement. This ensures that every individual has a fair chance to meet NEI’s high standards.

Team Member Benefits

After the completion of your 90-day probationary period, full-time team members gain access to:

  • Health Insurance & Health Savings Account (HSA): Comprehensive medical insurance with partial premium coverage, plus an HSA option.
  • Dental & Vision Insurance: Dental and vision coverage options for you and your family
  • Life Insurance: Basic life insurance with additional voluntary options, premium partially covered by us.
  • Protected Sick Time (PST): Accrued sick time ensures you have the support to recover and rest when needed.

In addition to these benefits, we also offer a discounted gym membership, quarterly access to the Columbia Employee store, and a financial wellness program.
