Attitude of Gratitude
The year has almost come to a close, and we’re getting really, really close to wrapping things up.
Some of you are sitting there right now, looking behind me, seeing these two little kids, the word “coffee,” and what looks like axe throwing. You’re probably wondering, “What is this?” Then you read the shirt—it says Mohawk Bros Coffee. Let me tell you a quick story.
Almost 12 to 15 years ago, I had this idea. My nephews came to stay with me for a week. They were really young at the time, about the same age as my boys. I gave them both Mohawks, and it was a lot of fun. That’s when the idea hit me: Mohawk Bros Coffee. How cool would that be?
I started thinking more about it, coming up with this concept of having an axe-throwing coffee shop. You could throw axes at targets, drink coffee, enjoy a latte, and do all the cool things people love. Maybe every barista would even wear a kilt. Who knows?
Some of you are probably thinking, “Man, that would be epic.” Maybe Mohawk Bros Coffee will come to life someday. The whole concept started with my two little nephews and their Mohawks. As my boys got older, they both had Mohawks at different times.
Neither of them wants one now, but it’s still a fun memory.
Recently, I gave a description to AI—ChatGPT, to be specific—and asked it to design a coffee shop that matched the vision in my head. I threw out a bunch of ideas, and this image is the outcome. It’s like the AI took little pieces of my brain and turned them into a picture. I thought I’d share it with you while talking about the rest of the year.
That’s the story behind Mohawk Bros Coffee. I think it would be an epic, fun adventure to create a franchised coffee shop where you can enjoy amazing coffee and do something exciting like throwing axes. Who doesn’t want to be caffeinated and throw axes? It’s definitely better than being drunk and throwing axes. But who am I to judge?
Now, as we approach the end of the year, I want to share a quote:
“An attitude of gratitude lifts up the grateful person, but until the gratitude is expressed, no one else is blessed.” I like that.
We should have an attitude of gratitude, and it should lift us up and others as well.
But we need to express that gratitude. Be grateful. Be appreciative. If someone holds the door for you at a restaurant, go out of your way to say thank you. Tell your waiter or waitress how much you appreciate them, and leave a generous tip as a thank-you.
Bless others during this season. We’re coming out of Christmas and moving into the new year. Gratitude shouldn’t be something we only think about in November and December, only to return to the hustle and bustle, stepping on others to climb the next ladder. We shouldn’t be that kind of person.
Instead, focus on having an attitude of gratitude throughout 2025—and beyond.
Why stop at a year? Make it a lifelong practice. Express gratitude everywhere you go. When you do, people around you will be blessed. You’ll find that people come to you for answers, help, and solutions, simply because they feel uplifted when they’re around you.
Be the person who uplifts others. Express gratitude in a way that inspires and lifts those around you. 2025 is on our doorstep, just days away. Let’s embrace it with gratitude in our hearts.
And hey, if I ever open a Mohawk Bros Coffee shop, come throw axes, drink coffee, and spend your hard-earned money at the coolest coffee shop in the United States—or maybe in Dubai. Who knows? I’m already dreaming big!
Mohawk Bros Coffee. I’m going to stick it in your brain. Forget Dutch Bros. Forget Starbucks. Mohawk Bros Coffee is the place to be. It’s not even a thing yet, but it’s going to be. God bless you all. See you later. Oh, and one last thing: Be valuable – Nothing less will do. Bye!
