What To Expect During a Field Leader Visit
At Northwest Enforcement (NEI), we pride ourselves on our commitment to building a strong, well-supported team. Field coaching, through regular field leader visits, is an important part of how we support and develop our officers. Our field leader visits go beyond check-ins. They connect us with the team, reinforce our core values, and ensure officers have the support they need to excel.
Purpose of Field Leader Visits
Field leader visits serve as a crucial touchpoint for both the team member and our leadership team. Visits provide an opportunity for one-on-one coaching, feedback, and recognition. Our goal is not only to assess their performance but also to guide them toward becoming even more effective in their roles. By conducting these visits, we create an environment where officers feel supported, recognized, and empowered to grow.
The field leader’s role during these visits goes beyond simply reviewing performance metrics. They are actively engaged in ensuring officers have the tools, resources, and motivation to excel. Additionally, field leaders take time to recognize achievements and celebrate strengths through recognition incentives like wheel spins. This approach fosters a positive culture that encourages continuous improvement and long-term success.
30-Day, 60-Day, and 90-Day Check-Ins
Our team member proven process includes a structured review cycle with check-ins at key milestones. Each stage helps field leaders assess the progress of our officers and identify areas for growth, all while recognizing the achievements made along the way.
- 30-Day Check-In: At the 30-day mark, field leaders review key areas like activity logs, report writing, radio check-ins, and post-order adherence. This check-in ensures new team members adjust to their roles and get the support they need. We identify strengths, guide improvements, and reinforce our commitment to superior service.
- 60-Day Check-In: The 60-day check-in allows field leaders to assess progress since the initial 30-day review. This visit includes a deeper dive into the team member’s performance, with a focus on continued improvement, recognition of achievements, and an update on any additional training needs. We continue to invest in our team by ensuring that each officer has the support they need to meet and exceed expectations, setting them up for long-term success.
- 90-Day Check-In: At 90 days, the team member transitions from probation to a fully integrated role. This check-in evaluates growth, refines skills, and addresses any remaining improvements. We also discuss career goals, raises, certifications, and training milestones. Each officer understands advancement opportunities and the path to success.
Quarterly Check-Ins: Reflecting on Progress and Planning for the Future
In addition to the milestone check-ins, quarterly conversations are a vital part of our ongoing coaching process. These check-ins allow field leaders to review progress since the previous sessions, assess changes in availability or attendance, and discuss the team member’s goals for the future. During these conversations, field leaders also recognize performance achievements, highlighting the team member’s dedication and progress.
During the quarterly conversation, team members are encouraged to set new goals for their growth, whether for the upcoming quarter or beyond. This provides an opportunity for field leaders to help them align their personal aspirations with our mission and values. We also review benefits, training opportunities, and leadership development, making sure each officer is aware of the resources available to them.
An Investment in Our Team
We believe that investing in our team is essential to our success. The field leader visits and check-ins are part of a broader strategy to create an environment where team members are continuously developing and refining their skills. Through consistent feedback, coaching, and training, we align individual growth with our company culture.
These values guide our actions and decisions, ensuring that each team member receives the support they need to succeed. We are dedicated to helping every officer thrive, with a focus on long-term retention and career growth.
