2025 BBQs

Hey team! All right, so here we are. This is Thursday, what we call Thankful Thursday, and I want to say how thankful I am to all of our team members. I also want to announce that Jimmy’s going to be putting out the details here real soon for our 2025 BBQs, probably today.

You might be noticing that I’m wearing my cool, awesome, amazing Fourth of July shirt. This is what we’ll be wearing on the Fourth of July. I bought this special for the holiday. It’s got an eagle on it and it’s all red, white, and blue. This year, we’re going to be 250 years old as a country. It’s going to be amazing. It’s going to be an awesome time.

Well, I’m not talking about the Fourth of July right now. What I’m really talking about is that we have two parties in July. The first one’s on the 9th, which also happens to be, keep this quiet, both my birthday and James’s. James is our developer, the guy that does all of our software. Some of you know him. Those of you who haven’t met him, you need to meet James. He’s pretty freaking amazing.

It’s something James and I share together. I’m a lot older than him. He’s a young guy. Me, I’m… well, I’ll be 250 in November, so I’m going to be really old. But my July birthday, my boys joke around, “What’s your real birthday, Daddy, and what’s your Marine Corps birthday?” Marine Corps is going to be 250 on November 10th. I’ll be somewhere in my 50s on my real birthday, which is July 9th.

We are having a party. We’re going to have our 2025 bbqs. It’s going to be awesome.

And it’s not about my birthday. It’s about you, it’s about what we love about our team. It’s that we eat cake and live out our core values.

So I want you to be at our July 9th party, for those of you that can make it. That’s one of the parties. Then we have another one the following Wednesday on the 16th. One’s going to be in Long View, the other’s going to be down here in Portland. You can come to both, have a burger and a hot dog, and hang out with the rest of us. It’s going to be awesome.

I’d love to have you at both parties. But to help people who live a little bit closer, people who are just getting off work, if you’re in Long View and just getting off work, it’s a long drive down to Portland for a hamburger. Same with Portland folks driving up to Long View. So we’re going to have a party in both locations, and it’s going to be epic.

We always do water balloons because we all have kids and it’s probably going to be hot on July 9th. It’s probably going to be hot on July 16th. Down here in Portland, for sure, maybe even up in Long View, we might pull out the Nerf guns.

Over the years, I’ve bought with my boys a bucket with over a thousand darts and 30-plus dart guns. It’s going to be a blast. We’ll probably have some squirt guns and shoot water at each other. You guys can shoot Greg. He loves being shot with Nerf guns and water guns. Those of you that know Greg, you know what I’m talking about.

We’re going to have a blast.

Again, that’s on July 9th and again on July 16th. Two different parties. All the details are coming from Jimmy, so it’ll all be written down. I just wanted to invite you and tell you how awesome it’s going to be.

Not to mention, I wanted to show off my shirt. I’ll probably be wearing this shirt at both parties because I love dressing up. I’ll probably get it soaked a couple of times because people like throwing water balloons at me. That’s starting to make me feel a little self-conscious. But maybe they just think I’m hot because my bald head is turning red, so they want to cool me off. Maybe that’s what it’s about.

I just want to wish you guys an awesome day. Today is Thursday. We are thankful for you, and we are celebrating with two epic parties, one in Long View, one down in Portland, on July 9th and July 16th. So mark your calendars.

Plan on bringing your family. Bring your kids, because who doesn’t want to throw axes? Yeah, we’re going to be doing some throwing axes. For you with little kids, don’t worry. They’re not real. They’re little, and we’ve got throwing stars and stuff. We have a little target we bought at Costco a year or so ago. It’s a lot of fun.

We’re going to do that, probably some dart guns, probably some water guns, definitely some water balloons. It’s going to be a lot of fun.
