Our Greatest Contribution

Our Greatest Contribution

It will be our love, not our opinions, which will be our greatest contribution to this world. Bob Goff.

Well, welcome, team. I’m currently in Reno, Nevada, with family. We had kind of a working slash fun vacation. It’s not working in the security focus, but Karen and I support a number of nonprofits. Most of you know that. One of the things that we got to do this summer was spend a week in Reno helping out with a festival and getting to see some great music and some amazing stunts and stuff. At some point, maybe I will post or show or something, or if you see me in the hallway or something, ask me to pull up some stuff.

I got to see some stunt guys. They call themselves the stunt dudes. They’ve been all over the world. Amazing, amazing guys with mountain bikes and BMX bikes, motocross. It was intense. It was amazing. Got to see some great bands, got to hang out with some great people. Got to watch my boys have fun.

Getting back to Bob’s statement, that quote, our greatest accomplishment in life is our compassion, our love towards our community, towards our people, towards our family. That’s our greatest accomplishment in this life. Now that I’m old, getting more and more gray every day, I’m coming to realize more and more that my greatest accomplishment in this world is raising my boys and showing them love so that they go into this world healthy and whole and can share their love with their community, with their people.

Sharing love with my team, you, has been probably one of the greatest things I’ve learned to enjoy in these last few weeks, months, years. I get to enjoy it more and more and more. Sometimes when we get off track, we get in the weeds, we start looking at spreadsheets and charts and graphs and budget lines and this, that, and the other, or just our own circumstances, email complaints, our own situations, budgets, things like that.

We tend to find ourselves maybe getting off track of remembering what our greatest contribution to this world is, and that’s to show love and to care for others and to give to others. That’s what I love to do, and I’m getting better at it. Some days not so much, but today happens to be one of those days, and I was thinking about you guys.

So, I wanted to share that information with you because today is our Monday Message, and I think that aligns well. Love isn’t a four-letter word on our core value chart. It is wrapped up in our core values of being valuable and nothing less will do, of having humility, of investment, of ownership, and being transparent, and eating cake. That one really does show up. We love to celebrate like a family, and a family loves.

Maybe you came from a family that didn’t. You’re like, Chad, you don’t know my dad. You don’t know my family. You don’t know where I came from. Or you came from a broken home, or maybe you’re a foster kid or something along those lines. I understand that, not quite the way you do, but you’re now in a family that does love you and does care for you.

We want to hear from you when you’re having struggles. That’s why we have the chaplain service. That’s why we have a marketplace chaplain. It’s why we have a number of the different programs available to our team members, because we love you, because we care. It’s why we have life insurance. If the worst were to happen, we want your family to be taken care of.

We institute things within our program, within our company, because of Karen and my heart for our people, and you are one of them. This morning, I just wanted to say, dude, I love you. I love you guys.

We are totally excited about getting into the fall leadership classes coming up, if you signed up for that. There are going to be some great homework assignments and some fun stuff to do, but we’re going to learn. We’re going to grow together, and we’re going to bond together. We’re going to become a deeper, tight-knit leadership family. I’m excited about that time too.

So, until Wednesday, we’ll see you guys later. We’ll be back by Wednesday. We’re flying back and heading home. The boys start school soon. I just wanted to wish you an awesome Monday and say God bless you. I can’t wait to see you guys at our next event, and I guess that will probably end up being leadership.

All right, and I will see you all here on the screen on Wednesday. God bless. See you.
