Attitude Keeps the Door Shut or Helps It Open
All right. So, here we go. Just thought I would reach out and have another beautiful day. Just a little chat with y’all.
Now, I read this quote, and it kind of stuck with me and made me think a little bit because I think it is true. Hear John Maxwell talk about this kind of subject an awful lot and others too in leadership circles.
And it says this. It says your attitude decides if the door stays closed or swings wide open. It is your attitude that makes that happen. And what that means, I think, if we think about it, is how we act and the attitude we have about things strongly controls a lot of the outcome. People see it in our body language.
They see our attitude. They see how we react to things, if we are pent up, if we are stressed, if we are tense, if we are listening or not. And our attitude has a way of closing us off sometimes, and we do not even see it because again, it is our attitude. If we are negative and down on others, people do not necessarily want to be around or talk to people in that fashion.
People who have an attitude that just kind of dismisses things and dismisses others. Nobody wants to be around a person that dismisses them all the time. And I think that it is really true.
So if you want the door to swing wide open, maybe sometimes we need to look in the mirror and wonder what is preventing us from what do we need to work on internally to get that door to swing wide open. If it is staying shut, depending on whatever the situation is in your life today, it might have something to do with your attitude. And it is the one thing that you can work on.
You can work on your attitude, and it is something that we can strive for over time. Now, your attitude does not change overnight. It does not. Your circumstances do not change overnight. It takes work. It takes effort. I am not sitting here saying that you can just clap your hands and the light is going to come on.
It is just not going to work that way for you. And some of us have it harder than others. There are people that have a more pessimistic view on life and things because of sometimes the way they have lived. Maybe it is just the way they have been made. But I have seen people be able to turn their attitude around over time.
I know I have changed my attitude over time. I do tend to have a more optimistic attitude, but I also over time have had a sarcastic attitude. And so I have needed to change my attitude many times in my life.
So as you go through this week, what is keeping that proverbial door in your life shut? What are the things in your attitude that you might need to work on? And if you do not know, well, ask your wife.
My wife can tell me exactly what I need to work on. Ask your husband. Ask those closest to you. They might give you a couple of insights into your attitude that might be able to turn things around for you.
All right, have a wonderful day. God bless you. I will see you guys next week. Remember, let’s be valuable. Nothing less will do. See you guys.
