How to Be a Champion

How to be a champion

Hey guys. So I wanted to share with you a quote that I read. It says, “I hated every minute of training, but I said don’t quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion, Muhammad Ali.” I’ve heard similar comments or quotes over my lifetime, and it’s really true.

If you want things that you don’t have, you have to do things you haven’t done. You have to accomplish something in yourself. You have to have consistency and discipline, and motivation; you have to do things that you’ve never done before. John Maxwell puts it in a very similar way. He says you can pay now and play later, or you can play now and pay later, which basically, in a very similar way, means that you can pay with discipline and hard-earned work now, and you’ll have a lot more to play and enjoy later on in life.

We heard Dave Ramsey say a very similar thing. These are great men of discipline and focus, and I got to be honest, I’ve played in my life and had to pay later. I’ve quit some things and not accomplished some things because I didn’t live as a champion later, because I wasn’t willing to put in the sweat equity today.

And so as you go through this week, I want you to think about what areas of your life do you need to be disciplined in. Do you need to work? Do you need to not quit so that you can live as a champion somewhere else down the road in your life? Something for you to think of.

And this fits in every aspect of our lives. Family, finances, doesn’t matter what it is, school, all of these different things in your life. You have to put in the work and not quit so that you can be the champion later on.

All right, God bless you guys. Remember, be valuable. Nothing less will do. I’ll see you guys next week. Bye. See you.
