You’re Not a Tree
Hey team. All right. Can you believe it’s December? In just a few days, not very far from now, we’re going to have a joint party getting together, celebrating white elephant gifts, eating food, eating cake, pie, all kinds of cool stuff. I am stoked. I’m excited. I can’t wait to see you all there.
If you haven’t yet RSVPd, I don’t think it’s too late. Please RSVP. Please come if you’re not working, and even if you are working, if you can. We’ve tried to arrange it so you can probably still show up for a few minutes and give us a hug, take some pictures, do something fun with the rest of the team.
So we want to celebrate you and all the hard work that we’ve put in this year. So again, I just want to say thank you. At the same time, I wanted to give you a little quote here. If you don’t like where you’re at, move. You’re not a tree. Jim Rohn. Kind of a cool statement.
Now, this isn’t me saying, “Hey, if you don’t like working here, quit.” That’s not what I’m saying. Please don’t quit. Stay. We love you. You’re amazing. But where are you at in life? You’re not stuck. You’re not stuck to some of the things that are going on in your life. You can move, you can make advancements, you can read books. You can take classes, you can study, you can get out of debt. There are so many things.
You can lose weight. You can get stronger. There are so many things you can do. I don’t know if I can get any more handsome because I’m pretty hot, but that’s just me talking. All right. I’m trying to make you laugh. But seriously, you’re not a tree.
So you can move if you don’t like where you’re at in life and the position that you have in life. You can constantly improve yourself and continue to move forward in the things that you want to advance and grow in. I’ve seen team members move up through the ranks through the company and grow in their experience and grow in their knowledge and grow in their value system of what they offer in different ways by growing into different positions and taking on more, elevating themselves and putting their leaders in a place where their leaders feel like I can trust because of how dependable and how loyal you have shown to be in the things that you currently are doing.
And we just finished up, or actually, I guess it’s tomorrow night, we are finishing up a leadership class. We have a group of young men and women that have spent the last 14 weeks doing a ton of homework, reading books, just leaning into becoming better at themselves.
And as I’ve read their homework and I’ve watched them grow, I see a different maturity happening in so many of them. It’s so refreshing for me in 25 years of doing this with Northwest Enforcement, and seeing where we’ve come because we have so many people that are moving. They’re not trees; they’re not just stuck and planted in where they’re at. They’re willing to grow in a different way and become something more than they’ve been before. And I think that’s an awesome thing.
So thank you for being awesome. This is your Monday message. God bless you. Have a wonderful week. And hey, we’re in December. Can’t wait to see you. Make sure you got a really cool white elephant gift. It’s always off the hook. It is awesome. And it’s going to be the bomb.
All right. God bless you guys. I just used some different terminology, probably that millennials used and other people used. Back when I was a kid, the word was bad. It was bad. It was cool. Cool. Bad was cool. And now I’ve just dated myself again.
All right. God bless you guys. Talk to you later. Bye. See you.
