You Can’t Outwork A Bad Attitude

Bad Attitude

All right, team. So, today I wanted to talk about something, as a little quote of mine that you cannot outwork a bad attitude. Trust me, people have tried. So, that is my quote.

And what does that mean? Well, I run into people. You are starting off the new year. I have run into a few “Eeyores” at the beginning of the year.

“Well, Nick, this year is not going to be anything different than last year. Last year was horrible. Nothing went right for me. It is probably not going to go right for me.” And they are, they are Debbie Downer. They are just down in the dumps, and they are like, “Why set a New Year’s resolution? They will not come true.” Yeah.

And granted, I have my issues with New Year’s resolutions and stuff, too. But that end result is you cannot outwork a bad attitude. You just cannot. If you walk into life, you become a prophet, and you did not know it. You are prophesying that I am going to have not a great year. And guess what? You are not.

You know why? Because you are not hopeful. You are not looking to the future. You are not trying to figure out, well, what can I do to make my life a little bit better? What can I do to make somebody else’s life a little bit better? I tend to find personally when I look to find ways to do better for others, then I tend to find myself, my problems melt away.

It is strange, but I do not think it is in all reality because my focus, my intent, my heart, my emotion is shifted towards others instead of looking at me. Because when I am looking at me, it is a one-way pity party. And if somebody invites you to their pity party, you do not have to accept the invitation.

You do not have to go there. Do not get involved in somebody else’s pity party because, like a bad stain, it will get your shirt all messed up. It will just infect your life, and all of a sudden, you are going to smell stinky, too. You are not going to enjoy a bit of it. Nobody wants to go hug a big, sweaty guy because nobody wants to smell like body odor all day long.

Nobody wants to do that. So, think through how can I turn this around? Some of you are more pessimistic. I am an optimistic guy, so it comes more naturally to me to look forward, to have hope, to be purposeful about hope. And maybe you need to go hug me. Hug somebody like me. Let’s not make this a weird thing, though. All right.

But ultimately, you need people in your life that are optimistic. You need to realize that, hey, my bad attitude is not getting me any place. And if [snorts] you think that your bad attitude will get you someplace, well, look backwards. How is that working for you? Maybe try something new. Try hope, try looking into the future.

Try doing something, reading a book, doing something new in 2026 that is a little bit different and have a little hope. Start hanging around people that are more hopeful, that are a little bit more exciting. Do not hang around all the time.

All right, I got a call coming in, so I better let you guys go. God bless you.

Have a wonderful rest of your week. And I just want you to know I will see you next week in the new year. Man, it is already. We are in week one. It is awesome.

All right, I will talk to you guys later. God bless.
