James, SRT Developer
Welcome back to Family Friday! I’m Lindsay, I’m the hiring administrator for Northwest Enforcement, and I have the privilege to continue on with this tradition. Today, we are talking to James.
Lindsay: Hello!
James: Hello!
Lindsay: So, James, can you tell me a little bit about yourself for those who don’t know you?
James: I am the developer. I write the SRT software for Northwest Enforcement.
Lindsay: So, you are the reason they can communicate more efficiently and do their jobs better.
James: Yes, hopefully.
Lindsay: Hopefully, and if not, it’s not his fault. Alright, so tell me about how you got started with Northwest Enforcement.
James: I had never heard of the software that makes SRT, and a friend of mine got me into the job by recommending me. I worked on the side for about three years, starting to create SRT, and then they hired me on. I’ve been working full-time for about two and a half years.
Lindsay: Two and a half years? Okay, so almost the three-year anniversary. That’s exciting. So, have you always wanted to be a developer, or is this something that you just kind of found later in life?
James: I have always wanted to be a developer. Alright, my entire life, since I was a kid writing programs on a little TV monitor computer.
Lindsay: Yes, I remember that as well. Alright, well, thank you so much for giving us that background.
Lindsay: So, now that we know who you are, let’s play a game. We have 45 seconds of rapid-fire questions coming your way. I gave James about two minutes to look at some questions I had already pre-written, and then there will be a couple of questions that he is not aware of. So, we’ll keep him on his toes. You ready? Yes, set, go.
Lindsay: If you had to change your first name, what would it be?
James: Frank.
Lindsay: Frank, okay. Where did you go on your last vacation?
James: Argentina.
Lindsay: Oh, that’s awesome. Get back to that. What is your favorite movie genre?
James: Sci-fi.
Lindsay: Sci-fi, okay. Finish the phrase: The way to my heart is…
James: Not doing interviews… full. Not sure.
Lindsay: Alright. Do you have a phobia?
James: No. That’s what I know.
Lindsay: Describe your style in one word.
James: Detail.
Lindsay: What would your spy codename be?
James: Schmender.
Lindsay: What do you cook best?
James: I cook a meatloaf, mini-loaves that everybody loves.
Lindsay: Okay. What never fails to make you laugh?
James: Myself.
Lindsay: Have you ever traveled abroad?
James: Many times.
Lindsay: Okay. Where?
James: Argentina, Peru, England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Chile, Uruguay, Brazil, Canada, and that’s all I can think of at the moment.
Lindsay: Alright. James, thank you for coming over here and for talking to all of us at Northwest Enforcement. It was really good to get to know you beyond me bugging you all the time.
James: Thank you.
Lindsay: Thank you, guys.
James: Thank you.
